Daniel Dae Kim is a Korean American actor. He was born on August 4, 1968 in Busan, South Korea. He's best known for his roles as Jin-Soo Kwon in Lost and Chin Ho Kelly in Hawaii Five-0.
Daniel Dae Kim moved to the United States with his family when he was two. He grew up in Easton, Pennsylvania, in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley, graduated of Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Haverford College in Haverford Township, Pennsylvania. His theatre major was completed at the neighboring Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He graduated from NYU's Graduate Acting Program in 1996. He is currently residing in Honolulu, Hawaii with his wife and two sons.

Kim was arrested around 3 a.m on On October 25, 2007 for allegedly driving drunk in Hawaii. The actor was booked at the Honolulu Police station and was released at 5:05 a.m. after posting a $500 bail. He publicly apologized for the incident the next day. He pleaded no contest to drunken driving charges and was ordered to pay a $500 fine, had his driver's license revoked for six months, was subjected to a drug-and-alcohol assessment, was ordered to pay $212 in court fees, and perform 72 hours of community service.
